In the Crowd - The Upcoming Week

So another great week of entertainment here in Tejas. I didn't even make it to the TV On The Radio or Prince Paul show (sorry RH). I got some OK footage of a pickled egg eating contest and Soul Rebels later this week.

What I do have for you is some great footage of Jason Shannon from last week at Continental Club. This guy can really put on a good show and it isn't a bold statement to think he could be playing Jazzfest around this time next year.

If I was still in STL I would be heading to these shows:
- Big Beat Fest w/ Nelly (Sunday / tonight) at the Pageant. I haven't seen Nelly perform in probably 5 years now but gotta support a U City alum!
- Atmosphere (Thursday) at the Pageant. Sean puts on a great "hip hop" show but Brother Ali is the real stage star and puts on a great performance no matter what
- Diplomats of Sound (Saturday) at the Gramophone. Anything with a soul revue type line up is a must see these days.
- Bassnectar (Thursday) at the Old Rock House. Wow didn't know you had this in you St. Louis. Great ready for an Austin favorite to tear it down.

Here in Austin I'm headed to see

- Great Northern (Monday) at the Parish
- Debating about checking out The Thermals at the Mohawk.

May be one of the few weeks ever where STL has a stronger music week then Austin. I'm sure this week will hold a surprise or two.
